Pastis NYC

When I moved to New York City in February, I was introduced to a very New York tradition: Sunday Brunch. Of course brunch is not unique to NYC - but no where is it more a tradition than here. If you're ever in NYC, check out what is now my favorite place for brunch on sundays: Pastis in the Meatpacking district. Its full of model-types and celebs to be sure, but it lives up to its hype by having the meanest mimosas and french toast you will ever have!
Also: I would love you if you would vote for me in the 2009 PhotoBlog Awards.

RIP MJ

Like so many of my generation who grew up with Michael Jackson as a huge part of our lives, I was gutted when he passed on this week. What a sad and tragic life he lived - but his music is second to none. I took a trip down to the Apollo Theater in Harlem today where everyone was singing and dancing and celebrating his life. There was a huge memorial where people were leaving their wishes and memorial as well. I left a small note as well. You can see a lot more pictures on my flickr stream. R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Awesome advertising campaign for a new movie co-produced by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson: District 9. Seen in the Meat Packing district not far from the previous shot.

Spock Monroe. The graffiti art of Mister Brainwash in the Meatpacking District, New York City. Here's another shot I took of his work in Soho. Is he New York's Banksy? Some think so. I do love his art!

The much awaited High Line opened this week - its probably the first new tourist attraction in the city of New York in well over 25 years and the people are really excited. I will be posting a lot more pictures from my trip

nyc fog

There's been crazy San Francisco-like fog over the city for the past two days. This is the mid town skyline from the rooktop of my apartment building. If there was no fog, you would see the midtown skyline - but its all engulfed in fog.
