great scene! maby the Epire building should have been more centered, but yet a breathtaking view.

  • yz on 27.12.2009 @ 15:28

    Fabulous tone & sharpness!

  • faisal on 27.12.2009 @ 16:00

@minimodi : I knew folks would notice it and Im glad that you note that the Empire is a little off center. Its actually on purpose. I have another shot here that has the Empire in the center and Im going for something a little different. Whether it works or not Im not sure, but I have to say I do like it slightly off center.

    Thanks all as always!

  • Devyn on 27.12.2009 @ 17:53

Wow.... Very nice. I love the detail at the top of the BofA tower.

  • Ben on 27.12.2009 @ 19:16

Awesome! Especially in terms of depth & toning.

  • sherri on 27.12.2009 @ 22:27

As many times as I've seen images of that structure in the center it just now dawned on me that there is a smaller one that looks nearly identical in Columbus, Ohio. It's the state building; or at least it used to be the state building. Gorgeous image.

  • darrell dawson on 27.12.2009 @ 23:36

off center is the ticket. the cluster of buildings would look weird if there was sanity in the picture

  • joshi daniel on 28.12.2009 @ 03:48

simply amazing! the blue tones gives a future kind of look!

  • hoi on 28.12.2009 @ 09:58

    Thanks, is a great present

  • ChrisK on 28.12.2009 @ 12:31

Theres that Friskytint :) you should have it patented. Is that smog or fog in the background? The left of the image looks a little empty because its darker. Where was this shot from?

  • george@minimalistics on 28.12.2009 @ 14:37

Delighted that you kept the Empire State off-centre, otherwise the image would have become one of two halves. Like the the blueness, it gives a cool image in every sense of the word.

  • B.J. on 28.12.2009 @ 15:44

    Absolutely outstanding photo mate

  • F. on 28.12.2009 @ 17:58

  • mike on 28.12.2009 @ 18:31

Could be a topic? I suppose so, but it's always a challenge to make such famous images stand out. The Empire State as rarely seen before! I like this shot very much. I think the slightly off centered touch works just fine.... Nice tone work too.

  • Luis on 28.12.2009 @ 19:01

Ahhh man, this is just fantastic.

  • John Maslowski on 28.12.2009 @ 19:20

  • grapf on 30.12.2009 @ 02:01

Great view of it, wonderful post. I have a good friend whose uncle owned this building - twice! That was quite a while back though. Very nice image to view.

  • crash on 04.01.2010 @ 22:23

oh wow ... beautiful shot! love the haze behind the Empire State Building ...

  • enoxisureka on 05.01.2010 @ 06:15

Love when things that are usually meant to be the focus don't take the central point. In this case, I like that the Empire is not in the middle of your frame. Adds a little extra character, and allows the rest of the building to shine a little.

  • aleksarus on 13.01.2010 @ 05:10

One of best photos with this view!

  • Fabian on 17.01.2010 @ 15:15
