Midnight

Midnight in Venezia, Italia. Pin drop silence. It was so quiet that I could hear my myself breathe and my heart beating. Hopefully that silence comes across in this shot.

wow, I would like to be there at that time and experience that silence. I've been in Venice at daytime and it's hard to believe it could be empty and silence, concidering how crowded it is at day.

Man, it sure does...love the long exposure on the water as well.

  • Claus Petersen on 18.03.2010 @ 02:46

Looks like one of the places in the second tomb raider game :-)

  • faisal on 18.03.2010 @ 06:33

    Thanks everyone!

A note about the green tones - they are natural. The water in Venice is green and thats whats being reflected on the buildings and overall tone of the image.

  • Csaba/EyeVision on 18.03.2010 @ 09:06

Nice composition and tones. Well done.

  • don on 18.03.2010 @ 10:33

A fine midnight view of this waterway among the houses. The lack of people and action does help convey a feeling that matches what would be expected at midnight. Fine image.

Frisky, your website changes almost every time I visit you!!! Does that mean you change a hell of a lot, or does that mean, I do not visit you often enough? Hm? Anyway, so you were in Venice, huh! I love Venice! Love it love it love it! So I hope you come up with more frisky@venice images! ... and maybe, you even have a new website coming with it? Who knows? ;-P

  • Ken on 21.03.2010 @ 11:28

The still water, the dark reflections. So good. I like the little things too, like the single green plant and the piece of magazine? on the sill in the bottom right and the hint of a four-squared glass panel in the bottom left.

  • Michelle on 21.03.2010 @ 13:20

Stunning capture...the solitude is the stillness of the water for me.

  • elaine on 21.03.2010 @ 13:54

what a sense of still and quiet indeed! u make me want to jump in a plane and go there (hopefully one of my next destinations after NYC!)
