R Train

The R Train. New York City. This must be the cleanest subway car Ive seen in New York. Not to mention those candy-colored seats. Yummy.

incredible shades of colors make this photo psychedelic

  • Kevin on 29.03.2010 @ 11:00

I was down in the city last weekend, didn't get out to the R though, mostly rode the L 6 and 4.

I really like the subject matter! Look at those seats shine! How did you manage to find a car with no passengers?

  • PhotoGeek on 29.03.2010 @ 11:16

Great shot of the R train. And I agree with you, this is one of the cleanest subway cars I've ever seen, even if there is two pieces of paper on the floor.

I wish you could have snuck frisky radio ads into this... not in PS mind you - but in real life! Guerrilla marketing.

  • Boris on 29.03.2010 @ 11:52

great graphic picture ! lovely colors and nice sense of symetry !

  • Fabian on 29.03.2010 @ 11:57

    Maybe it's a new car ;)
Nice colors and the symmetry is very kind on the eyes.

  • Klaus on 29.03.2010 @ 12:31

Where you hide the people? ;-) Like the shinny surfaces

  • Ben on 29.03.2010 @ 12:34

Superb shot of the interior! Artificial lights can be tricky, but you did damn great job!

  • Devyn on 29.03.2010 @ 12:48

    Friggin' Awesome!
I snapped a similar shot with my iPhone on the F Train a few months back. I have long been a fan of the orange seats... too bad they are disappearing.

  • frankdejol on 29.03.2010 @ 12:49

    Fantastic color, contrast and symmetry...
    I love a psychedelic mood....
    My favorite today.

Shiny shot. I love the color ranges between the floor and the seats. I bet you were very happy when you saw the empty wagon :)
    Nice shot dear

  • Tulna on 30.03.2010 @ 03:49

Shiney! How rare is it to find an empty subway car in NY? Pretty rare for a tube in London...

    niiice! stylish.

  • Csaba/EyeVision on 30.03.2010 @ 05:46

Nice shot. Have you corrected the lens distortion during the post processing or is it straight from the camera? I like the seats too but not that much to try to eat them :)

  • joshi daniel on 30.03.2010 @ 06:20

Nearly looks like a train that would belong in Willy Wonka's world in 1984.

  • george@minimalistics on 02.04.2010 @ 11:33

Beautifully cropped and composed. I think this proves without doubt that the 'golden thirds' rule can be broken with panache to produce excellent images.

  • Marcelo Aurelio on 02.04.2010 @ 19:40

Beautiful, beautiful light and color is a total show!

  • Brian Chen on 03.04.2010 @ 15:51

This is so great. No arguments from me.

  • LightningPaul on 20.04.2010 @ 06:26

Very nice shot. I love such types. Room for improvement: DOF is too limited (a higher aperture number and higher ISO would have been better).

  • JD on 23.04.2010 @ 00:05

cool pic, smashing colours + composition!

  • Phodyssey on 10.07.2010 @ 14:31
