Meatpacking District. Circa 2010. New York City.
This is a followup to my shot posted exactly a year ago: Meatpacking District. Circa 2009. After I posted it, Valerie mentioned that I should do these every year. So here it is. Cant believe its been a year already. As you can see, not much has changed in the Meatpacking Dict in 365 days, which is why some parts of New York City are so timeless.

Not much has changed including the bus (moved a few yards) and construction at camera right is ongoing.

Your luminous B&W makes this shot very classic !

Magnificent mood. Looks like, in the early twentieth century (of course, if only to remove these modern cars...). I love this shot!

Nice capture. What kind of technique you use to convert to B & W? I use Alien Skin Exposure.

Could have been taken last year - or fifty years ago - except they didn't have Mini's then. But it retains all the character, nostalgia and charm of those earlier days. Lovely shot.

I love NY.

Awesome! I keep tabbing betweend the 2010 and 2009 photos like a maniac. Too bad pixelpost won't allow you to post more than one picture in a single post...

a very fine city capture. The black&white gives a timeless impression, the elevated perspective is perfect!

Turnbill on 21.06.2010 @ 06:12
Yes, not much has changed. It would be interesting to see an historic (say 1900's) photo from he same viewpoint.
mooch on 21.06.2010 @ 11:06

This could be a shot from the 50's if it weren't for those new cars riding around :) Lovely strong contrast!
