The Power Station

A couple of days ago I went to photograph the Battersea Power Station with my friend Chris. The light was horrible and it was difficult to get anything decent. This shot turned out to be the best one of the lot, which is funny becasue it was shot from ground-level below the gate of the main enterance to the power station, without me looking thru the viewfinder. I have a couple of other shots that I still need to process and might post. I also need to process the Holga shots from that day – I bet they will turn out great.

A colour version of this shot is on my blog.

Sweet! loving the way the DOF trails off so fast - looks like a lomo shot :) I still reckon its a shame we couldnt get into the grounds - it would have made things a lot more interesting!

    Thanks guys.

Ingo :: I disagree - the black & white gives it a timeless touch of an era gone by... This builing looks perfect in black & white, I think.

the chimney's look so out of step with the rest of the building design ...! looks very intimidating just to look at

Oh, I definitely want to try and shoot this sometime. How close can you get to it?

Love it! When I went to England a number of years ago one of the things I had to photograph was this building (weird I know). Closest I got was on a passing train.

Terrific shot. I'm in London tomorrow - perhaps I'll pop along and see if I what I can get. Amazed I've never got round to photographing this before - although I do have some shots taken from Vauxhall Bridge.

Wow ... amazing you got to check this out. Did you get to go inside also? This is the coolest building - I looked it up when I saw Children of Men which had the floating pig over it as a reference to the Pink Floyd album with the same building (Animals). Lucky sir, and this shot really did turn out nice.
