Notes

  • Pay phones at the Tokyo Narita airport. This is the very first shot I took upon landing in Japan. I cant wait to go back! In my 2 weeks in Japan - I never saw one person using a pay phone, yet they are everywhere. This is obviously due to the Japanese love for their keitais. So why the payphones continue to exist is a mystery.

  • It is very interesting how the bases aren't all lined up. Love the lime green.
    Devyn @ 10-10-2009
  • Seems odd that there are so many things out of place and yet it all seems like such a perfect lineup. I like those two splashes of green.

  • This is really a rare site in this modern age of the cellphone.
    Claus Petersen @ 10-11-2009
  • A fine shot to notice and shoot. The two brightly colored phones are very eye-catching (as intended no doubt), but interesting that they don't seem to be used.
Probably a victim of the cell phone.

  • Super shot . You make me curious about green ones . PS-ed or real green ?
    MARIANA @ 10-11-2009
  • Thanks!

@MARIANA: Its real green. I keep my pp to the very minimum these days. The two green phones are different in that they take credit cards and the other take phone cards.

    Tayab @ 10-11-2009
  • Superb shot! I like all the details that breaks the perfect line. The two green ones, the missing phone directory and the bases that seems to move.
    Just perfect!

  • What stikes me immediately is the size of the phone books underneath. This is Toyko! Those phone books must been for Narita itself.

And on the green phones that take credit cards - this is Japan...there are almost no credit cards accepted.
    ROB @ 10-13-2009
  • Nice shot, bravo!

  • Interesting image, I like the contrast between the perfectly ordered segmented background and the uneven line of phone bases. Great colours and metallic feel.
