Vik, Iceland. Stepping onto the back sand beaches in southern Iceland you feel like you have been transported into an alien world. Everything is as it should be at a beach: the sound of the ocean and waves, the way the beach feels on your feet - yet the color of the sand is... pitch black. Whats more: the absence of any kind of life. No crabs crawling about. No sea shells. No signs of the usual beach life you normally see. And since no humans can be seen anywhere - you feel isolated and completely alone in this alien planet. It takes a while to get used to it. And its totally wild.
