The Dentsu Building, Tokyo Japan. This building quickly became my favourite building in Japan. It shouldnt come as a surprise to most of you I love these types of buildings. This shot was taken just a few feet away from the previous shot.
Dentsu is Japan's largest advertising agency and this building was designed by French architect and Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel. Its sleek, sexy and thin, if you can call a building those things. :-)
The title of this shot is a little bit of an internal joke. Even though the building is called Dentsu Tower, I couldnt help but call it Densetsu Tower, after my friend Denny.
Bonsoir,
great greyscale..Very nice framing..Bravo! jelb @ 08-08-2009
Nice ! I like your style. The composition in this photograph is perfect. I also like the black and white tones. Sophie Asselin @ 08-08-2009
Wow...it's huge, impressive, like your photo. Jaol @ 08-08-2009
very cool. the building almost slices the air.
i assume the pritzker is a good thing. :) Otto K. @ 08-08-2009
@OttoK: Yea the Pritzker is like the Oscars of architecture. :-) frisky @ 08-08-2009
This is kind of scary. I love it! Bob @ 08-08-2009
Impressive building. Love the composition end the B&W tones. pernilla @ 08-09-2009
Ominous and elegant. The angle and edges give the building a weightless yet powerful presence. Nice greyscale tones. Jeaux @ 08-09-2009
Is that the agency Araki used to work for?
Reminds me of a grave headstone or the monolith in Space Odyssey 2001. Mike Dougan @ 08-09-2009
here works all .. b&w, composition and the angle .. realy great work and a good photographer feeling! Klaus @ 08-09-2009
This really scrapes the sky. Love the greyscale. Davin Greenwell @ 08-09-2009
A perfect composition and an impressive view. Excellent photo ! cako @ 08-09-2009
Wow...I can see why it became your favourite. A very impressive shot, strong, powerful and full of drama. The sky is amazing. bluechameleon @ 08-09-2009
Great composition, the angle of the building with the frame sharpening yet the thinness of it. I like too the large space you gave to the sky, to tell us this building has no rival around. PixeLuz @ 08-10-2009
cool angle and great composition. md.Hafiz @ 08-10-2009
Very nice composition and placement. I'd like to see just a tiny bit more room between the top edge of the building and the frame, but it's a minor thing. Great angle! Bob Towery @ 08-14-2009
Nice view. I think the "vignetting-effect" is to visible... Nice angle btw. espennilsen @ 08-16-2009
Works beautifully in mono. terrorkitten @ 08-20-2009
Very edgy (even Frisky) but refreshing framing. LightningPaul @ 08-24-2009
